The appearance of N.Y. Senator Hillary R. Clinton at the Hudson Valley Political Action Committee dinner, with the content of her remarks as repeated in the published statement below, exemplifies a contrapositive in sign-use. This is demonstrated through document B., linking shooting desperate flood victims trapped in New Orlean’s lower 9th ward with shooting Palestinians by Israeli mercenaries. This must be pointed out in order to expose the profound logical and psychological dislocation of/in the situation.

Senator Reaffirms Strong Bonds Between U.S. and Israel

Spring Valley, NY - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was honored as a guest speaker at the Hudson Valley Political Action Committee's (HUVPAC) 23rd Annual Dinner on Sunday night, September 25th, at the Atrium Plaza in Spring Valley, NY. The Hudson Valley Political Action Committee (HUVPAC) is a bi-partisan organization and supports candidates in federal elections who are supportive of the US-Israel relationship. Senator Clinton praised HUVPAC for the work its members do to bring essential US-Israel issues to the fore.
HUVPAC Founder, Dr. Mendy Ganchrow, when introducing Senator Clinton told the crowd, “I remember during the campaign of 2000, then-candidate Clinton and I exchanged letters. I wanted to make sure she understood all of the issues that we at HUVPAC were concerned about. Today, Senator Clinton’s knowledge of Israel, her command of the issues and the facts surrounding Israel and the Middle East are impeccable. She has a 100% perfect record on Israel, and we are delighted she is with us tonight.”

During her speech, Senator Clinton reiterated her commitment to supporting Israel insisting “that a strong, lasting, profoundly supportive relationship between the United States and Israel is essential to our efforts to try to secure peace and stability.” She also noted that America’s “future is obviously intertwined with and in many ways dependent upon the future of Israel.” She described the connections between Israel and the U.S. as based on a shared vision of democracy: “the bonds between Israel and the United States are more than mere shared interests. They’re more than strategic interests. They are bonds that have been forged in account of struggle; for human rights, for democracy, for freedom. These are bonds that predate the creation of the State of Israel, that really predate the creation of the United States, because I would argue they are rooted in fundamental beliefs and values about the dignity and rights of men and women to live in freedom, free from fear and free from oppression. There is no doubt in my mind that these incredibly strong bonds and values will remain as the lodestar of our relationship with our democratic ally and friend Israel. Because Israel is not only a friend, not only a strategic partner and ally; it is a beacon. It is an example about what democracy can and should mean.”

Senator Clinton also discussed the ramifications of Israel’s recent disengagement from Gaza and called on the Palestinian Authority to dismantle the structures of terror that have been employed for too long. “President Abbas must be held accountable for any and all actions that take place under his leadership. The disengagement has shown a bright spotlight on the Palestinian people and their leadership. The excuses have had to end. They now have responsibility for Gaza. The world will see whether they are capable of exercising responsible leadership. Will they be able and willing to pursue a path of peaceful coexistence? Or will they be overrun by the extremists and the terrorists, whose only vision of the future is the destruction of Israel? Will they build roads and infrastructure or will they loot buildings, greenhouses and synagogues? Will they develop trade missions and exchange with their neighbors or will they have an unchecked and compromised border with Egypt that does not screen entrance for the kinds of weapons and other means of destruction that they may wish to bring in? These questions are all squarely the responsibility of President Abbas.”

Senator Clinton called upon the Palestinian and European leaders to take responsibility for ending violence in the Middle East, especially in urging the Palestinians to end the incitement of violence: “I would call on the Europeans to do even more - it is time for them to pressure the Palestinians to exercise responsible and accountable leadership. There are several ways to do that. Number one, no aid should be given unless it is conditioned upon the end of the terrorists’ structure and the infrastructure. Number two, the continuing incitement of hatred, anti-Semitism. The incitement must end and no aid and no support should flow to the Palestinians unless they once and for all take steps to end that incitement through their textbooks and their media.”
Particularly disturbed by the use of inflammatory rhetoric to incite violence in children, Senator Clinton declared “When it comes to children, those children are like any children, they should be shielded from hate, not covered with it, not given it as a means to see the world and in fact by making those children vehicles of that hatred, it was a form of child abuse and it was something that they needed to accept responsibility for because of what they were doing to their own children. Using children as pawns in that kind of hate-filled campaign needs to be condemned universally.”


Issuing a very clear warning about other areas in the Middle East, Senator Clinton also spoke about the threat of an Iran armed with nuclear weapons saying, “a nuclear-armed Iran would shake the foundations of global security to its very core.”

This, on the special bond between US – Israel “based on a shared vision of democracy”, presumably including the history of the process that led us into the war with Iraq, not pointing in the same direction toward Iran.

Blackwater Down

The men from Blackwater USA arrived in New Orleans right after Katrina hit. The company known for its private security work guarding senior US diplomats in Iraq beat the federal government and most aid organizations to the scene in another devastated Gulf. About 150 heavily armed Blackwater troops dressed in full battle gear spread out into the chaos of New Orleans. Officially, the company boasted of its forces "join[ing] the hurricane relief effort." But its men on the ground told a different story.

Some patrolled the streets in SUVs with tinted windows and the Blackwater logo splashed on the back; others sped around the French Quarter in an unmarked car with no license plates. They congregated on the corner of St. James and Bourbon in front of a bar called 711, where Blackwater was establishing a makeshift headquarters. From the balcony above the bar, several Blackwater guys cleared out what had apparently been someone's apartment. They threw mattresses, clothes, shoes and other household items from the balcony to the street below. They draped an American flag from the balcony's railing. More than a dozen troops from the 82nd Airborne Division stood in formation on the street watching the action.
Armed men shuffled in and out of the building as a handful told stories of their past experiences in Iraq. "I worked the security detail of both Bremer and Negroponte," said one of the Blackwater guys, referring to the former head of the US occupation, L. Paul Bremer, and former US Ambassador to Iraq John Negroponte. Another complained, while talking on his cell phone, that he was getting only $350 a day plus his per diem. "When they told me New Orleans, I said, 'What country is that in?'" he said. He wore his company ID around his neck in a case with the phrase Operation Iraqi Freedom printed on it.

In an hourlong conversation I had with four Blackwater men, they characterized their work in New Orleans as "securing neighborhoods" and "confronting criminals." They all carried automatic assault weapons and had guns strapped to their legs. Their flak jackets were covered with pouches for extra ammunition.
When asked what authority they were operating under, one guy said, "We're on contract with the Department of Homeland Security." Then, pointing to one of his comrades, he said, "He was even deputized by the governor of the state of Louisiana. We can make arrests and use lethal force if we deem it necessary." The man then held up the gold Louisiana law enforcement badge he wore around his neck. Blackwater spokesperson Anne Duke also said the company has a letter from Louisiana officials authorizing its forces to carry loaded weapons.

"This vigilantism demonstrates the utter breakdown of the government," says Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights. "These private security forces have behaved brutally, with impunity, in Iraq. To have them now on the streets of New Orleans is frightening and possibly illegal."

Blackwater is not alone. As business leaders and government officials talk openly of changing the demographics of what was one of the most culturally vibrant of America's cities, mercenaries from companies like DynCorp, Intercon, American Security Group, Blackhawk, Wackenhut and an Israeli company called Instinctive Shooting International (ISI) are fanning out to guard private businesses and homes ****, as well as government projects and institutions. Within two weeks of the hurricane, the number of private security companies registered in Louisiana jumped from 185 to 235. Some, like Blackwater, are under federal contract. Others have been hired by the wealthy elite, like F. Patrick Quinn III, who brought in private security to guard his $3 million private estate and his luxury hotels, which are under consideration for a lucrative federal contract to house FEMA workers.

A possibly deadly incident involving Quinn's hired guns underscores the dangers of private forces policing American streets. On his second night in New Orleans, Quinn's security chief, Michael Montgomery, who said he worked for an Alabama company called Bodyguard and Tactical Security (BATS), was with a heavily armed security detail en route to pick up one of Quinn's associates and escort him through the chaotic city. Montgomery told me they came under fire from "black gangbangers" on an overpass near the poor Ninth Ward neighborhood. "At the time, I was on the phone with my business partner," he recalls. "I dropped the phone and returned fire."

Montgomery says he and his men were armed with AR-15s and Glocks and that they unleashed a barrage of bullets in the general direction of the alleged shooters on the overpass. "After that, all I heard was moaning and screaming, and the shooting stopped. That was it. Enough said."

“A few miles away from the French Quarter, another wealthy New Orleans businessman, James Reiss, who serves in Mayor Ray Nagan’s administration as chairman of the city’s Regional Transit Authority, brought in some heavy guns to guard the elite gated community of Audubon Place; Israeli mercenaries dressed in black and armed with M16s. Two Israeli’s patrolling gates outside Audubon told me they had served as professional soldiers in the Israeli military, and one boasted of having participated in the invasion of Lebanon. “we have been fighting the Palestinians all day, every day, our whole lives,” one of them tells me. “Here in New Orleans, we are not guarding from terrorists.” Then, tapping on his machine gun, he says, “Most Americans, when they see these things, that’s enough to scare them.”.”

C. Note: the following results, similar to drawing conclusions from premises of arguments, are reached by the process of EDUCTION*, as it is called in psychosemiotics.. This process calls for metally combining: (A.) Sen. Hillary Clinton’s statement (as S*1 – text and token: what she says, and her saying it, as leading Democrat Party spokesperson in national politics) …. with (B.) ISMERCS (Israeli mercenaries) turning up in New Orleans guarding private property, equating drowning, desperate people with Palestinians “we have been fighting all our lives” …. This juxtaposition, revisited, gives the following result as the situation:

1. Her first paragraph contains a contrapositive (a proposition derived from reversing and contradiction the subject and predicate of an original proposition): Rather than HUVPAC being a “bipartisan” pro-Israeli, it is, more accurately, a non- or anti-partisan Pro-Israeli lobby organization, pressuring national political figures from both sides of the aisle if they want to compete for the Jewish vote. Similarly, when Clinton “praises their work in bringing U.S. Israel issues to the fore” based on “a shared vision of democracy”, this translates into promising to keep NON -democratic basis of this alleged quasi-sacred bond most sacred of all bonds from being brought to the fore. The fact is, this particular sentiment – call it what you will – that there are fundamental and incompatible differences between American and Israeli interests, both in the Mid-East and in terms of domestic policy. For instance, whether the spy/traitor Franklin deserves a death sentence v. life emprisonment.

2. Therefore, her (HC) speaking to them (HUVPAC) (facts on the token side) praising their work, is the contradiction of representing America over against their work, and is the logical contrapositive of “bipartisan lobby doing good for America”. It is, in fact, manipulation by non-American interests to defeat partisan politics as an instrument of democracy.

Further: In the broader course, the presence of ISMERCS in the 9th ward puts her on trial. In her opinion, could any authority of any agency of the US government ever give lawful orders for foreign legion or hired private contractors to fire on American citizens, whatever they were doing?

Finally: in still broader terms: This organization (HUVPAC) works in reversal of American interests, in the name of American political institutions; praise of their work, touted as democracy, all the while keeping the issue of that particular bond from open discussion and debate, is a reversal of what democracy is about. I call such monstrosities in communication as Hillary Clinton’s performance “Double Reverse negative” sign-uses. It is the logical contrapositive of the proposition “good guys getting praised”. It is bad guys getting cursed.

War on Iran is the Third Horse of the Apocalypse, in Richard Moore’s fine telling (Apocalypse Now and The Brave New World), unleashed on the world by the Project for the New American Century (PNAC). The last sentences of the statement made sure that she aboard this genocidal, suicidal scenario, also.
