Were we not confronted with the activities of the American administration in this part of the world and the negative ramifications of those activities on the daily lives of our peoples, coupled with the many wars and calamities caused by the US administration as well as the tragic consequences of U.S. interference in other countries;
Were the American people not God-fearing, truth-loving, and justice-seeking, while the U.S. administration actively conceals the truth and impedes any objective portrayal of current realities; And if we did not share a common responsibility to promote and protect freedom and human dignity and integrity;
Then, there would have been little urgency to have a dialogue with you.
While Divine providence has placed Iran and the United States geographically far apart, we should be cognizant that human values and our common human spirit, which proclaim the dignity and exalted worth of all human beings, have brought our two great nations of Iran and the United States closer together.
Both our nations are God-fearing, truth-loving and justice-seeking, and both seek dignity, respect and perfection.
Both greatly value and readily embrace the promotion of human ideals such as compassion, empathy, respect for the rights of human beings, securing justice and equity, and defending the innocent and the weak against oppressors and bullies.
We are all inclined toward the good, and toward extending a helping hand to one another, particularly to those in need.
We all deplore injustice, the trampling of peoples' rights and the intimidation and humiliation of human beings.
We all detest darkness, deceit, lies and distortion, and seek and admire salvation, enlightenment, sincerity and honesty.
The pure human essence of the two great nations of Iran and the United States testify to the veracity of these statements.

Our nation has always extended a hand of friendship to all other nations.
Hundreds of thousands of my Iranian compatriots are living amongst you in friendship and peace and are contributing positively to your society. Our people have been in contact with you over the past many years and have maintained these contacts despite the unnecessary restrictions by the U.S. authorities.
As mentioned, we have common concerns, face similar challenges and are pained by the sufferings and afflictions in the world.
We, like you, are aggrieved by the ever-worsening pain and misery of the Palestinian people. Persistent aggression by the Zionists is making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine. Yet in broad daylight, in front of cameras and before the eyes of the world, they are bombarding innocent defenseless civilians, bulldozing homes, firing machine guns at students in the streets and alleys and subjecting their families to endless grief.
Not a day goes by without a new crime.
Palestinian mothers just like Iranian and American mothers love their children and are painfully bereaved by the imprisonment, wounding and murder of their children. What mother wouldn't be? For 60 years the Zionist regime has driven millions of the inhabitants of Palestine out of their homes. Many of these refugees have died in the Diaspora and in refugee camps. Their children have spent their youth in these camps and are growing older while still hoping to return to their homeland.
You know well that the American administration has persistently provided blind and blanket support to the Zionist regime, has emboldened it to continue its crimes, and has prevented the U.N. Security Council from condemning it.
Who can deny the broken promises and grave injustices committed against humanity by the U.S. administration?
Governments are there to serve their own people. No peoples want to side with or support oppressors. But regrettably, the U.S. administration disregards even its own public opinion and remains in the forefront of supporting the trampling of the rights of the Palestinian people.
Let's take a look at Iraq. Since the commencement of the U.S. military presence in Iraq, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed, maimed or displaced. Terrorism in Iraq has grown exponentially. With the presence of the U.S. military in Iraq, nothing has been done to rebuild the ruins, to restore the infrastructure or to alleviate poverty. The American Government used the pretext of the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but later it became clear that this was just a lie and deception.
Although Saddam was overthrown and people are happy about his departure, the pain and suffering of the Iraqi people has persisted and has even been aggravated.
In Iraq, about 150,000 American soldiers, separated from their families and loved ones, are operating under the command of the current U.S. administration. A substantial number of them have been killed or wounded and their presence in Iraq has tarnished the image of the American people and government.
Their mothers and relatives have on numerous occasions displayed their discontent with the presence of their sons and daughters in a land thousands of miles away from U.S. shores. American soldiers often wonder why they have been sent to Iraq.
I consider it extremely unlikely that you, the American people, consent to the billions of dollars of annual expenditure from your treasury for this military misadventure.

You have heard that the U.S. administration is kidnapping its presumed opponents from across the globe and arbitrarily holding them without trial or any international supervision in horrendous prisons it has established in various parts of the world. God knows who these detainees actually are and what terrible fate awaits them.
You have certainly heard the sad stories of Guantanamo Bay and the Abu-Ghraib prison. The U.S. administration attempts to justify them through its proclaimed "war on terror." But everyone knows that such behavior, in fact, offends global public opinion, exacerbates resentment, spreads terrorism and tarnishes the American image and its credibility among nations.
And the American administration's illegal and immoral behavior is not merely executed outside its borders. You are witnessing daily that under the pretext of "the war on terror," civil liberties in the United States are being increasingly curtailed. Even the privacy of individuals is quickly losing its meaning. Judicial due process and fundamental rights are trampled upon. Private phones are tapped, suspects are arbitrarily arrested and sometimes beaten in the streets or even shot to death.
I have no doubt that the American people do not approve of this behavior and indeed deplore it.
The U.S. administration does not accept accountability before any organization, institution or council. The U.S. administration has undermined the credibility of international organizations, particularly the United Nations and its Security Council. But I don't intend to address all of these challenges and calamities in this message.
The legitimacy, power and influence of a government does not emanate from its arsenal of tanks, fighter aircraft, missiles or nuclear weapons. Legitimacy and influence reside in sound logic, the quest for justice and a compassion and empathy for all humanity. The global position of the United States is in all probability weakened because the administration has continued to resort to force, conceal the truth and mislead the American people about its policies and practices.
Undoubtedly, the American people are not satisfied with this behavior and they showed their discontent in the recent elections. I hope that in the wake of the midterm elections, the administration of President Bush will have heard and will heed the message of the American people.
My questions are the following:
Is there not a better approach to governance?
Is it not possible to put wealth and power in the service of peace, stability, prosperity and the happiness of all peoples through a commitment to justice and respect for the rights of all nations, instead of aggression and war?
We all condemn terrorism, because its victims are the innocent.
But, can terrorism be contained and eradicated through war, destruction and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents? If that were possible, then why has the problem not been resolved? The sad experience of invading Iraq is before us all.
What has blind support for the Zionists by the U.S. administration gotten the American people? It is regrettable that for the American government, the interests of these occupiers [the Israelis] supersedes the interests of the American people and other nations.
What have the Zionists done for the American people that the U.S. administration considers itself obliged to blindly support these infamous aggressors? Could it be that they [the Zionists] have imposed themselves on a substantial portion of the banking, financial, cultural and media sectors?
In a demonstration of respect for the American people and humanity, I recommend that the right of Palestinians to live in their own homeland should be recognized so that the millions of Palestinian refugees can return home so that the future of Palestine and its form of government can be determined by referendum. This will benefit everyone.
Now that Iraq has a Constitution and an independent Assembly and Government, would it not be better to bring American officers and soldiers home, and to spend the astronomical U.S. military expenditures for Iraq on the welfare and prosperity of the American people? As you know very well, many victims of Katrina continue to suffer and countless Americans continue to live in poverty and homelessness.
I'd also like to say a word to the winners of the recent U.S. elections:
The United States has had many administrations; some of which have left a positive legacy and others that are neither remembered fondly by the American people nor by other nations. Now that you control an important branch of the U.S. Government, you will also be held to account by the people and by history.
If the American Government meets its domestic and foreign challenges with an approach based on truth and justice, it can remedy some of these afflictions and alleviate some of the global resentment and hatred of America. But if its approach remains the same, it would not be surprising if the American people similarly reject the recent electoral winners. Because the recent elections, rather than reflecting a victory, really point to the policy failures of the current administration. These issues were been extensively dealt with in my letter to President Bush earlier this year .
To sum up:
It's possible to govern based on an approach that is distinctly different from one of coercion, [military] force and injustice.
It's possible to sincerely serve and promote common human values, honesty and compassion.
It's possible to provide welfare and prosperity without tension, threats or the imposition or war.
It's possible to lead the world toward the perfection we aspire toward by adhering to unity, monotheism, morality and spirituality, and by drawing on the teachings of the Divine Prophets.
Then the American people, who are God-fearing followers of Divine religion will overcome every difficulty.
What I have said represents some of my anxieties and concerns.
I am confident that you, the American people, will play an instrumental role in the establishment of justice and spirituality throughout the world. The promises of the Almighty and His prophets will certainly be realized, Justice and Truth will prevail and all nations will live a true life in a climate replete with love, compassion and fraternity.
The U.S. governing establishment, the authorities and the powerful should not choose irreversible paths. As all prophets have taught us, injustice and transgression will eventually bring about decline and demise. Today, the path of return to faith and spirituality is open and unimpeded.
We should all heed the Divine Word of the Holy Quran:
"Those who repent, have faith and do good may receive Salvation. Your Lord, alone, creates and chooses as He will, and others have no part in His choice; Glorified is God and Exalted above any partners they ascribe to Him." (28:67-68)

IDEAS (as absolute) "in", or illustrated by their calculations and drawings, belong to the upper part of the upper segment. In the schema below, IDEAS are as it were folded from upper to left side, leaving The One, above, opposite The Many, below -- as if bending the divided line around on itself.

COMPLETING THE CIRCLE: Time, Memory and Materiality

In order for the Word to pass through The One, to become an Idea for Consciousness, a functional memory must be assumed. Under the assumption that consciousness is consciousness-in-a-body (embodied self-awareness), awareness of ideas requires the capacity to retain learned use of signs with their meanings. This role of memory is overlooked when, like Descartes, the Ideas on which real knowledge depends are "innate"; or "eternal", outside time, echoing Plato, Augustine. If Western science and "modernity" means anything at all in footnoting Plato, it would be here where empirical processing must be brought in tro account for what actually transpires. Tracing content of consciousness to the body completes the circle that traces the body to consciousness through ideas. The quite recent recovery of fetal origins of human experience, retained under birth-trama by most to varying degrees, powerfully motivating group behavior and psychohistory, confirms these intuitions of a 'supra-'conscious givenness associated with logical ideas. But also invite a return of naive projections of reified abstractions. This wedding of form and function in sign-use is The New Transcendentalism.

The lower segment of Plato's line encompasses what is visible (extended), and "shades and reflections" of what is truly real. This is also the realm of THE MANY, below, opposite The One above. The Many, relative to sign-use, are the several subjects of predictions, the objects in space and time referred to in communication. Words, themselves, as tokens, are a Many under the One of text.
This is the formal analogy of "many instances" (of man, animal, plant, celestial body, etc.) under a single term (F), illustrating a common essence when, as in genetic reproduction, there is an external process to match the sign-use (with memory) process. As text is to token, so is essence to object.

The Many are materially differentiated. Even those who deny the existence of matter are required to admit it is a vastly successful hypothesis. "Matter" is not just the polarity of "spirit" in Hegelian dialectic; that is the metaphysical idealist's way of reducing the lower segment of Plato's line to conscious content. It is "true", but only through itself, by consciousness taking back into itself what came out of itself in the modern era. As for the rest, there are the objective explanations: atomic-molecular theory of matter; chemical-cellular theory of organisms; the forces of graviy, electro-magnetics, etc. The doctrine and practice of Christian Science prove it is possible for people to live totally in their head, consciously reducing the body and everything perceived through it to "phenomena", or Berkeleyian "ideas". This expands the category of consciousness to its spatial material opposite. It is consciousness (mis-)using metaphysics to defend its Ideas as real (they exist transcendentally, not imminently (under the form of sensory intuition: Kant).

But if the reality of material causal processes is admitted, the admission goes directly over to physical-psychic processes involved in use of signs. This means: anatomical/nervous preparatory apparatus, especially centered in the central fornix-cortical brain interactions). This completes the circle of conscious sign-use from the token side (the many token-particulars of each word each have their cause).

Iraqi president says Democrats told him they will not pull out quickly

BAGHDAD, Iraq - President Jalal Talabani said Thursday that he had been assured by Democrat congressional leaders during a recent visit to Washington that they had no plans for a quick withdrawal of U.S. forces.

Talabani, a Kurd whose post is ceremonial, said Democrats also backed the idea of placing U.S. troops in bases while putting Iraqis in charge of security in and around cities.


“They all told me that they want the success of Iraq’s democratically elected government and continued support for the Iraqi people to defeat terrorism,” Talabani said about his trip to the United States in late September as many were predicting the Democratic congressional triumph in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

WASHINGTON (AP) - John Bolton's prospects for staying on as U.N. ambassador essentially died Thursday as Democrats and a pivotal Republican said they would continue to oppose his nomination.


It was another blow to President Bush, two days after Democrats triumphed in elections that will give them control of Congress next year. On Wednesday, Bush had announced that Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, a polarizing figure and face of the Iraq war, would step down.


On Thursday, the White House resubmitted Bolton's nomination to the Senate, where the appointment has languished for more than a year. Bush appointed him to the job temporarily in August 2005 while Congress was in recess, an appointment that will expire when the Congress adjourns, no later than January.


Sen. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., who was defeated by Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse on Tuesday, told reporters in Rhode Island that he would continue opposing Bolton. That would likely deny Republicans the votes needed to move Bolton's nomination from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to the full Senate.

Limbaugh's "core values", which he now claims the Republicans have disavowed, and he is liberated from being the Great Deceiver's water carrier (which he indeed has been), are the politics of killer Mommy ("Femenazi") enemy-liberals, always peeking into boys' bedrooms and disarming the menfolk. That is his 'line in the sand' between "conservatives", as he understands the term, and "liberals" -- aka the "bleeding heart" Cindy Sheehan types. One thing is clear: the major topic kept out of the '06 campaigns entirely, now the proverbial elephant in the living room, is the matter of Israeli/Jewish influence on U.S. foreign policy. Already under indictment by Mearsheimer and Walt for skewing U.S. foreign policy in the Mid East toward war on Iraq to favor Israel , the 410-8 House vote in support of Israel's Lebanon campaign in July/August '06, plus the looming Iran situation -- all indicate a force that will not go away; cannot go away; and cannot be made conscious, because it is under repression (and making it conscious is a sin punishable by death). This where The Unconscious has America by the balls.


The instinctive impulse, Sigmund Freud held, is to turn on sexuality ("liberalism") as "sin" and evoke punishment for it. Why? The "unconscious sense of guilt" (Freud), which is "sin" (Christianity), provoke, or invoke, a sense of needing punishment. The rhythmic, involuntary phase of the movement toward release-relaxation, after the lugubrious tension heightened by arousal, is resisted, 'clamped down' on, given less-satisfying substitutes, or find outlet in neurotic symptoms.

The thought of "punishing Israel" is cathected in the group as a whole with varying degrees of guilt, conscious or otherwise; or, met with approval or neutrality. In any case, the 410-8 House vote, coupled with the deafening silence on the issue in election '06, show a very powerful content in the collective unconscious that demands attention be paid it as a national problem.

Rumsfeld as Scapegoat's Scapegoat

Jews of what ever variety understand the very word can become radioactive, its bearer's made scapegoats of wrongdoing. That is why there an Anti-Defamation League. Abe Foxman wants to prevent such psychosemiotic radioactivity as "anti-Semitism". Knowing that danger of this is heightened when blame for the Iraq war seeks to come put, the scapegoats need a scapegoat -- to displace and, hopefully, defuse the impulse to punish the "impudent upstart Jewish horde". That would be Rumsfeld's role.





Redirecting the impulse-to-punish by unconscious substitution of objects is classical Freudian displacement. One substitutes psychologically for the other, with the victim turned on not really understanding why. Rumsfeld has carried out what he was called on to do as best he could. No one denies that. So what should they* expect? The punishment, this shows, is not aimed exactly at him, but at the group's projection onto him: punishing him for what they* put him up to doing. Making Jesus out of Rummy; purse from a sow's ear. "Re-inventing themselves" it is called now. The Re-pubes get a little re-birth on the cheap here by canabalising Rumsfeld. Let the Democrat's wrecking ball, and the MSM hit him.

To Resolve an academic dispute

A dispute has broken out in academiia over what is communicated as mathematical knowledge by the 1800 BC Babylonian tablet known as Plimpton 322. The interpretation of O. Neugebauer, exploded on the learned world in 1945 as proof the Sumerians knew the mathematics of Pythagorian triads, was challenged as incongruent with the background knowledge. The details can be found on-line.

Some historians have noticed that (1) each first column entry is the square of the cosecant of an angle of a right triangle, and (2) the associated angles are roughly one degree apart. So they have suggested that this is a trigonometric table of squares of cosecants for 45° down to 30°. This would be the earliest instance of cosecants by millennia, and the earliest instance of a trigonometric function by over a thousand years (the first trig function being the chord of an angle). It would also be the earliest instance of degree measurement by over a thousand years. In other words, that's a bold claim. A weaker claim is that the table was constructed to make the first column uniformly decreasing.

One way of approaching the issue is by reconstructing a TokenSpace background common to both ancients, Pythagoreans -- and "us": those informed by the historical continuity of these fundamental and profound relationships.. Numbers (in cuneiform); in ennumerated vertical columns; each column extending left-wise in rows of number clusters; the heading of the three columns of rows as "width", "length" and "diagonal": That is what Plimpton 322 is.

This could also, abstracting these structural elements from the particular numerical values which are sometimes hard to follow, be taken as the schema of a succession of predicate-levels -- if the rows of individual dimensions of objects are successively contained (subsumed, as the points in one class include those of others, matching themselves, matched by in the container. This way of generating doubles (1-1 correspondences) from doubles (assuming a starting point of name-thing; consciousness-brainstate), through the series of containers (1-1) ->2 -> 3 -> 5 -> 8 -> 13, can be mapped onto the Fibonacci rectangles, yielding the expanding spiral line dividing each successively. This imaginary line may be arbitrarily terminated, and related back to the point of origin as "centre" after six steps, to the 7th square after 1. (set off-center, the spiral becomes a variant of the letter "G", matching its imagined reverse-fold (back-to-back) opposite in mirror TknSpc). This yields the schema of a line connecting the circumference of a circle through an accellerated rate of increase from its center, assuming all segments are traversed simultaneously (as concentcric rings of 7 similar equal stages)

These hypothetical simultaneously given concentric rings are orbits in Tokenspace Quadrants under seven levels of predicates, from lowest: 1 -the orbit of the neurophysiological world, passing over into the psychosemiotic level of dream consciousness; to 7 - the orbit-container of (the) God(s) of the sky and kingdom of heaven.. These are the antipodes of awareness spanned by Sign uses on the Wheel of Communication

The term Fibonacci sequence is also applied more generally to any function g from the integers to a field for which g(n+2) = g(n) + g(n+1). These functions are precisely those of the form g(n) = F(n)g(1) + F(n-1)g(0), so the Fibonacci sequences form a vector space with the functions F(n) and F(n-1) as a basis.

More generally, the range of g may be taken to be any abelian group (regarded as a Z-module). Then the Fibonacci sequences form a 2-dimensional Z-module in the same way

From this it is possible to generalize, "Fibonacci sequence", of F(n) w/ g(1), F(n-1)g(0), to "Fibonacci progression": E(n), D(n), C(n), B(n), A(n) with g(1). etc.., each letter preceding the constant "g" as the function sign standing for a (1) - (0) base. If these seven (6, under "g") are taken as a Fibbonacci string 1-1-2-3-5-8 (for A-B-C-D-E-F), the 13 is G/g: the form of forms as a unity taken up from lower-to-higher case level, showing the octave's return to "Do" in the progression of tones of the musical scale. With repetitions of these, sounded out with rhythm, lyrics, timbres and harmonics from all ends of the scale come all the music modulations we experience. The stacked squares in the Fibonacci rectangles up to 13, from which the line spiraling in begins, successively curling counter-clockwise through smaller squares until returning to alignment with point of entry at the centre. This line would traverse all vectors of planes in TokenSpace. It's seven notes, or moments, are the vibrations in Space/time energy/matter as a S*tring of consciousness. The F(n) vectors in TokenSpace, along the diagonal from center-to-upper left on the two-dimensional surface, traverses the fields of predicates from the starry heaves above to the moral law within through which the totality of experienced..

If, inverting lower for higher case ("G" for "g": "f" for "F" etc.) letters, to indicate orders of form vs. matter, text vrs tokens, predicates vs. names, G is taken as most inclusive (as in "The G-word": God), all things (n) are shown in the wheel of communication under the curve through square 13, entering square 8, the field of human visual sense perception, as light. All 'f(x) are G", the class of all truths when "f" is any predicate applying to any object x (as an n). The class of G's includes whatever is given as individuals under any predicate: propositions in general, a unity in duality. It is the predicate of all predicates applied truly to subjects, taken up as the "is" relation into the form (higher level) inherent in form (lower level) of (forms,...) of individuals.

These notes unifying the description of what transpires along a line through solids stacked in the F(n) way, spiraling down, in and through from G to A. This is the model-map of the Wheel of Communication along its radius from center to circumference. It is also an interpretation of the Ray of Creation (Ouspensky) with conscious S*trings as "worlds" of nested space-time scales of matter-energy ratios.

The seven Notes are mounted on a circle spiraling inward to a terminus near the center.but a little below right. Retracing the spiral from there, within, outward, through each square successively, to arrive at actual Sign-use, begins: where neurophysiology goes over into the lowest-conscious level, in sleep, as dreams. These are brought back into waking state by conscious effort (or relaxation of effort), but are already organized templates of reproduced scenes in imagination allowing displacement and condensation of feeling situations to occur.

It is at this lowest-level boundary that trauma, and imprints of content under pain-of-recollection screen out/ disguize and distort some "dark" thoughts from the feeling domain, so easily suppressed. (When these can no longer be brought back to consciousness due to 'resistances', they go over to 'repressed' content. They can continue to draw cathexis in the unconscious, and skew relations that depend on continuity for consciousness. This is basically what neurosis is, in Freudian terms.) The spiraling-in energy entering as light into the perceived visual world is pulled downward, and into, the chthonic depths of organic pulsation; then this energy spiraling out, from those depths into articulate Token-(then Outer)- Space, become higher "light" for consciousness. "God", the highest, most complete, powerful., nurturant, containing text-token,


is at the circumference, but also at the center of this inward-outward spiral line, the same form of unity under and through the sequence of predicates. It is the most pretentious token, or token of most pretentiousness. The unity of the Ray of Creation, passing through, and out of, the human anatomical incarnation.

These are successively squared text-token predicate levels in the Wheel. Dreams and the pre-conscious neuro-physiological substrate are the 1 -1 duality of the Fibonacci process, the self-texting unconscious, transcribing images of how we feel from one context to another (as in mini-flashbacks, using primary-process memory). The "2" square is post-birth, mind-body consciousness (Descartes). "3" square, touching the side of the 2 where the 1's are doubled, adds Eros to Aesthesis, as in pursuit of reproduction with orgasmic acme. "5" doubles this, taking up into itself both mind and body under judgment of right or wrong action -- added whenever reproduction is put in the context of the larger completing whole. "8", then, adds the double of the moral (good will) and non-, or im-moral domains, as conscious individual personal being. This is completed at 13 by the arc of logos/light/reason penetrating the earth-sky diameter, connecting Isis (as Sirius; w/ the Sothic calendar) to existential totality, and completion in the square 21.

THE HIERAQRCHY OF INTENTIONAL TYPES


In any formally elaborated language of the Principia Mathematica sort, strict observance of the distinction between names and predicates is required in order to avoid violation of the Theory of Logical Types. invoking predicates of predicates -- "F", as predicate of x's, subtituting for one of x's it ranges over ("F" for "x" in "F(x)", to give "F(F)". In formal deductions, this generates self-contradiction* -- see below. In ordinary grammar, however, the doubling of predicates on themselves occurs often and importantly: to fold back, or fold into, the use of a sign as text (meaning) what is communicated through it as token. This occurs everytime a sentence calls attention to itself, the word "word" is used for a word, communication commences about communication, ... pursued until finally consciousness comes into view, per se under Sign-Use (S*). Philosophy could not exist without language about language, thought about thought, representation of what is (being). How do these two things go together?


A general system of what exists, as a totality, under a basic predicate-subject form, if it is to avoid paradox, self contradiction and internal turmoil, must theoretically bestow an asymmetrical, transitive stipulation for the relation of F-E-D-C-B-A to g(n), as substitutes. F's, as forms of E-level individuals, are not E's; E's are not D's, etc. At the top, "God", as chief text in TokenSpace for all the S* in its field cannot stand for an object in the field of consciousness, except as a token for a text referring outside and beyond it as its field of completion. (Whether "God exists" or not cannot be asked; do Fibonacci sequences?). Similarly, the Forms Plato depicts so beautifully in Republic 6 as contents of the upper part of the upper part of the divided line cannot themselves be objects appearing in the sensible world, though the motions of sun, moon and planets in Ptolemyic approximated perfected circles, the Greeks thought. Nor, pursuing the theme of formal transgression further, can Forms and dynamics of such enormous cosmological objects; nor the Forms and dynamics of micro-objects composing the cells, tissues, organs of the personal body, until it becomes conscious to itself and others using signs...Nor can the unity of this (S*5) level of predicate -- the "I" itself, as it is to itself, become an objective entity observed in the world by others, except through the body.

In the Hierarchy of Intentional Types, S*4 is the domain of conscious agency, where the form of will under S*7,6,5 (upper triad) intersects, and interacts with, actual physical movements of the body (as S*3,2,1: the lower triad levels of sign-use. Let these correlate with:

Great care must be taken to instal this basic framework as a metaphysical analytic as accurately as possible. The seven-tiered hierarcy of predicates of predicates, of ....objects spiraling in and spiraling out of the universal TokenSpace Globe, relating to its own progression as upper and lower triads meeting at the 4th of each -- body responding to communication of thought through consciousness each completing the other ... is the format for universal TokenSpace proposed in the Wheel of Communication.


The work of the three sectors of the lower triad, S*3,2,1 is correlated through the Fibonacci rectangles through 1,1 and 2: The 2 is a square of the two 1's, taken as body/consciousness (actual sign-use) events. This is the totality portended by S*5, under which it can be figured as a sequence like "I S IS ISIS". proceeding from S*4 "I Do" (as double text-token: doing what it says).

Thus, those who know English grammar and Egyptian mythology will read the sequence as the cumulative synthesis of letters for the copula, "is" doubled in the name of the Goddess, as if the truth-connection holding between subject and predicate in true sentences were vouchafed are 'seen' by Her grace. The same mythopoeic metaphor can be found in ancient Athens, with the Great Goddess bringing love of wisdom in logical discouse. The triple synthesis expresses not so much a though as a profound evocation.

It also shows the way strings of sign-use (S*) can curl upon themselves, loop back through the series of tokens traversed to a certain point, in the manner of getting the next number in a fibonacci series by adding the one just reached (N+1) to the previous (N) (Ex.: after 5, 8, by going backing to add 3; after 8, 13, etc.). The successive synthesis involved in reading "I S IS ISIS" brings the three distinct moments into a whole, for consciousness. The S*tring theory of consciousness holds that brains have come to cap off lower skeletal/organic neural processes in such a way as to generate strings of signs that reproduce relationships in reality in general (among the objects signified).

The advantage of this simple arithmetic metaphor is its correlation of the acts of folding, or looping the results of one process into another, with a line spiraling through Fibonacci rectangles and Sea Shells:

We can make another picture showing the Fibonacci numbers 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,.. if we start with two small squares of size 1 next to each other. On top of both of these draw a square of size 2 (=1+1).


We can now draw a new square - touching both a unit square and the latest square of side 2 - so having sides 3 units long; and then another touching both the 2-square and the 3-square (which has sides of 5 units). We can continue adding squares around the picture, each new square having a side which is as long as the sum of the latest two square's sides. This set of rectangles whose sides are two successive Fibonacci numbers in length and which are composed of squares with sides which are Fibonacci numbers, we will call the Fibonacci Rectangles.

Here is a spiral drawn in the squares, a quarter of a circle in each square. The spiral is not a true mathematical spiral (since it is made up of fragments which are parts of circles and does not go on getting smaller and smaller) but it is a good approximation to a kind of spiral that does appear often in nature. Such spirals are seen in the shape of shells of snails and sea shells and, as we see later, in the arrangment of seeds on flowering plants too. The spiral-in-the-squares makes a line from the centre of the spiral increase by a factor of the golden number in each square. So points on the spiral are 1.618 times as far from the centre after a quarter-turn. In a whole turn the points on a radius out from the center are 1.6184 = 6.854 times further out than when the curve last crossed the same radial line.

Further construction on the spiral line

When a line divided into equal lengths 1/7th of the whole, is imagined as a spiral passing through the squares of 13, 8, 5,3,2,1,1, the ordered squares on rectangles increasing from vanishing point inward, to indefinitely expanding radius-diameter outward. The seven sections of the line correspond to:

-The seven levels of Token types* for content of consciousness, each preceeding as one "Square" through the series
-The seven notes of the musical octave
-The seven hues of color
-The seven orbital rings of electronic valency around the nucleus of an atom
-The seven days of the week
-Whatever other sevens in nature can be bound by S*rings of their own

All these can be ordered as successive Fibonacci squares, as if they were worlds with separate, more inclusive processes, all seven connected by the two ends of the S*tring, as the return to "Do" connects the notes Ti-La-Sol-Fa-Mi-Re from above and below in the octave of wave lengths. The ratios of volumes of the series, cubed (expanded in three dimensions), define the relative scale of actual wave lengths broken down into the seven volumes as real segments of any totality. This is the psychosemiotic statement of Gurdjieff's Law of Heptaparaparshinok.
